$11 – use coupon code RomiMystLove1 in your shopping cart
$9 – use coupon code RomiMystLove2 in your shopping cart

This listing is for a PDF downloadable hand knitting pattern only. You will have unlimited access to the downloads through your account. This is a mystery knit, so there are a few clues in the further description below, but you will not know what the finished product looks like until the end of the clues. That’s the fun of it! By purchasing this product, you will receive a full pattern broken into 5 “clues,” beginning April 26, 2024 and spaced one week apart. The pattern will then be compiled in March of 2025 and updated so that you receive the full copy in one PDF document.

Welcome to my 2024 mystery shawl KAL: Way Leads on to Way. A knitting project is never only one thing. We are attracted by the dream of a lovely finished object, but we are crafters, and the journey itself is filled with beauty and fulfillment. It’s a metaphor for the life experience, isn’t it? And it reminded me of a favorite Robert Frost poem: “The Road Not Taken.” The way ahead lies before us. We have never traveled this particular route before, nor will we ever be here again. The path beckons us forward, to gather all the disparate pieces together into a beautiful cohesive whole.

This is a crescent using two colors of sport or fingering weight yarn, 385 to 438 yards each. The first clue will be released digitally on April 26, 2024. The KAL will have 5 clues total, each one week apart. One year after the KAL is over, your mystery pattern will update to the full pattern.

We will be knitting together in the @Romi’s Studio forum and in my Facebook group, and I will also be doing YouTube lives and meetups! You will get a full schedule in the time leading up to the first clue drop. The YouTube lives will remain accessible as recordings. I hope you’ll join us in the fun!!!

Hints before the first clue:

  • Although Annapurna from A Verb for Keeping Warm is listed as sport weight in the Ravelry yarn database, I would say it is on the light side, and knits up like a fingering weight. Either sport or fingering weight will work. Floating and Rumor are fingering weight yarns.
  • I am using the Berries & Cream (peachy-pink with speckles of pink)/Wisteria (warm medium purple) colorway from A Verb for Keeping Warm and starting with the darker color.
  • Remember: do not substitute a yarn of which you have less than 385 yards.

I can’t wait to knit with you all! xox
